    E842-0113

First check to see if the camming mechanism is working. If it is you will notice it will try to lift the belt and then fall back down.

This is caused by pieces of the upper gears breaking off and contaminating the steel gears that lift the belt into position. Clean the gears and the problem should be resolved.

In a few cases the problem was found to be the 53T gear on Fixing Roller End_Gear part number ,FM4-7099-000, PC figure 814 item 14.

    E842-0113

This code refers to a pressure belt engagement error for Primary Fixing during warm-up.

    Workaround :

In service mode check I/O, D-Con P008, bit 13. During warm-up rotation Bit 13 should change state.
If bit 13 does not change state this means sensor PS308 is not working or the wires going to the sensor are pinched.

Check for broken wires and cut wire ties.
In this case cutting wire ties to sensor PS308 resolved the E842, 0113 code.
The part number for PS308 is: FK2-0149-000.7

Thanks alot for your input. The camming mechanism is working and it tried to lift the belt and then fell back down. I temporally put a piece of block under the camming mechanism to hold it up
and the code was gone. I will go back and attempt your suggestion and keep you posted how it went. Thanks alot! however another issue came up (Paper Jam, 0A13), I will post this in a new thread for easier reference should anyone encounter similar issue.

            Re: error code: E000842-0113-05

The pressure belt tends to be displaced toward the shaft while driving.
Since one-sided displacement of the pressure belt may cause damage to the fixing roller, the pressure belt position is constantly detected during driving of the pressure belt so that it is kept at the center.

Before the pressure belt starts driving, the home position of the steering roller shaft (tilt) is detected.
The home position is a place where the sensor flag on the swinging arm shaft blocks the light path of the Primary fixing pressure belt displacement HP sensor (PS308).

            If
I/O P008 bit 13 stays at one there is no movement == that will result in the error E842-0113

= No Change of state on sensor

0: CCW( counter clockwise ) movement
            1: CW ( clockwise ) movement

Thanks a lot for your explanation and the the diagram. Two questions please: 1. I can't locate the sensor PS308 in reference to the above diagram. I've attached pics below 2. Would you recommend replacing the sensor?

Thanks a lot for the link for ps308 location. I located the sensor, cut wire ties and checked for damamaged cables and but error stilll showing. In service mode, Bit 13 changes from 0 and remains at 1 during warm up.

Assuming is the sensor PS308, could one swap with another sensor for a firm diagnos, or the pressure belt drive only works with the part number for PS308,: FK2-0149-000.

swap is ok there are many sensors in this model that are similar ----swap on same assembly

did u check the gears ??

just because HP was detected on power up------does not mean ps308 detection takes place when the edge sensor flags detects shifting to signal return to HP

I checked the gears 53T gear. Gear part number FU6-0470-000. Please which is the "steel gears steel that lift the belt into
                          position
                          "
, and any suggestion from the pics were else to check?....i've attached pics.

                          Problem :
                          E842-0113
                          Solution :
First check to see if the camming mechanism is working. If it is you will notice it will try to lift the belt and then fall back
down. This is caused by pieces of the upper gears breaking off and contaminating the steel gears that lift the belt into
                          position.
Clean the gears and the problem should be resolved.
