    [Misc] LBP253X

    hi,

I have a customer who wants to print to this device via USB only. Their own IT dept, tried to connect it via USB but kept getting in the printers/device "composite USB device" and kept coming up with unable to connect.

I went there today, used my laptop, updated the firmware, used my own printer cable but did exactly the same thing. Tried different ways of trying to install as a printer but kept coming up with the same message.

I deleted the composite USB device under device manager, rebooted the Laptop but same thing happens. The usb slot seems to be on the main controller and not an independent NIC card,

has anyone come across this? Ive googled it but nothing seems to work, so looking at replacing the main controller?

    tks

It's all Windows 10 OS. Latest drivers installed, not sure what you mean USB 2-5?

Maybe a dumb question, but you did install the drivers BEFORE plugging the USB cable in, right?

I've had so many installs on USB go "Wonky" because the customer plugged the USB cable in... THEN ran the installer!

Here's a link to Canon USA for their "Official" installer package. I always wait until the installer ASKS before plugging the USB cable in.

          Good luck.
