Canon IR C5250 - remove fiery

    Hi all

Im not very familiar with Canons machines but wanted to ask if there is a setting in service mode to tell it that it has no fiery.

I have disconnected the fiery but wanted to check if there was a setting elsewhere as the 'printer' icon on the home screen is still displayed and when pressing the 'printer' icon for the 'printer/server status', it just says 'wait a while' etc...

I just want the machine as a base model with no fiery.

    Thanks

Yes, Service Mode 1 - Mode List - Copier - Option - INT-FACE - IMG-CONT change the Value X (normally 3 or 4) to 0, reboot the device and set the new ip-address.

from memory, you can't just unplug the fiery and off it goes, when a fiery is fitted the normal NIC is removed and a special adaptor NIC is fitted - this may not apply to this model, but you'll know if once the fiery is removed you cannot print to the machine

NIC = Network Inteface Card, and this Card will not be removed with the fiery, you install only a EFI Video Card into the iR ADV C5250. This Video Card is addapted with a Serial Port. then connect the Fiery network cable from Device NIC to the Fiery NIC, connect also the serial cable.

The customer Network cable goes to the fiery.

if you do not change from 3 or 4 to 0 in the service mode, you dont have any Networksettings.

Also if you plan to use the fiery on another 5200 series you will need to remove the video card or as call it the interface card as well as the additional 512 memory stick type D and install it to the device you want.
