    Service reports

    Hello Canon guys,

The company I work for recently purchased a company that services Canon products. The old company was a Canon dealer but lost their dealership and they only work with off lease reconditioned equipment.

I have always been a Sharp and Brother guy myself and have not had to work on Canons until know. The Sharp has a 22-06 i can print off and the Brother has a 77 report i can print to show me the current status of the maintenance and other supplies as well as current device info such as firmware and current counts. Does Canon have a report like this o can print off? I have tried many reports but i cant seem to find a useful one.

    Re: Service reports

One report that's helpful is called a "P-Print". STRONGLY recommended one of those gets printed before the machine ever gets sent out. Those are all of the internal Service Mode settings, which if some overzealous tech does a D-CON and M-CON clear, it'll help get all your settings back to Day-1.

To check drum life, go into Service Mode-Level 1>COPIER>COUNTER>LF

Displays the drum life in %

      COPIER>COUNTER>DRBL(-1)
      (DRBL as in durable ?)

      Shows life % of other parts too ;

PT-DRM Black drum T (counts up to 100%)
PT-DR-x (X is color of drum)
      R-BLT (Transferbelt)
      2TR-Roll (sec. transferroll)
      FX-Unit (Fuser unit)
      or:
FX-UP-Fr/FX-LW-BR etc for individual parts of the fuser...

Most important thing : get a servicemanual for the diff. types of machines.
Canon treats the as being pure gold (they are ) but doesn't give them away...

Copytechnet is most valuable, I suspect some Guy's collect them for fun
