From beginning: I bought a IPF 755 printer which had a Problem with the Rom on the PCB-Board (error code E196-404E). I checked voltage stability of the Power Supply under load, which was ok. I flashed the the Firmware with the FUT which didn't change anything. It seemed that the ROM was over the maximum lifetime write cyclesI could flash the firmware where is there L-printer-service-tool, but the error persisted. Is there anybody who can give me Ideas how to repair a printer similar to CANON IPF 755 with that story? My minor ideas are:-try to recover the data from the old ROM an put it on the new-(or) see if there is new data in the new rom, erase it an see what happensAs I am building up a small business with printing and decoration, their printer is very important to me...Thanks a lot and all the best from Vienna/Austria!

still interested?
had the exact same issue with ipf700/710 where i selected wrongly MC/CPU board in replace mode. solved it with a second board+rom pushing back correct values.
i'm from vienna and can lend you a 755 rom + (also board) in order to fix your issue.

sidenote: have two 755 boards, fully working except 1 nozzle block from 12. suggest some fuse blown due to printhead overheat...do you have knowledge to fix them?
