I could not tell if it was light or what issue the machine was having from the picture. We turn potential control off and lower developer bias to darken copies. My company gives generic toner but even with canon toner we are getting new copiers that are light. Some techs adjust corona height for darkening copies.

Are you printing a SCANNED image? (what DPI and how does the scan look when VIEWED?)
A file? what is DPI (resolution) set for in the file?
you REALLY give us little to work with...
remember we are NOT on site..
maybe post the config pages to give us an idea HOW the machine is setup for: SCAN - PRINT file/image/PHOTO

Sounds like you are not servicing properly if you are adjusting dev bias and corona height.

Ok, on a brand new machine with light copies what would you suggest? An advance 6575?

This series has always been light out of the box. Adjusting corona height sounds like a good idea to me.

Thanks. That guy telling me I was not servicing it correctly was something else. He obviously has not worked in the field much.

That to me looks like a problem from your computer. I would try canon ufr2 print driver, and try scanning to pdf instead of jpg. I have not gone back to all the posts to see if you updated your software on copier. If what I saw the scan made it to your computer and looked close to scanned original, then you should get a black and white original a lot better than you did. Sometimes you have to try different things. You could try scanning to your mailbox and print from there to see the difference.
