Hello,
We have a IR ADV 4235 that is outputting solid black and halftone prints from edge to edge occur. Some of the images which are black also have white spots/blotches. After lengthy troubleshooting the developer, drum, laser, power supply, and hvt were all replaced. The DCON was also cleared with no change in symptom. No error codes of any kind were displayed. Attached is a TechPub we found. I followed the direction of the TechPub and just like them, I was able to check the service mode value that gave a small clue to this problem in the original TechPub. When checking the problematic machine's value it was high, same as in the TechPub. The service mode that was used was SERVICE MODE>COPIER>DISPLAY>HV-STS>PRIMARY. This service mode only shows a value if one checks it during a print or a copy. This service mode value is related to the primary current value.
The solution was said to be related to the primary and it's hvt contact springs. They found the issue was resolved once the springs were addressed. One of the contact springs was believed to have been grounded out to the frame. We have ordered the primary bias springs but cannot find instructions to replace them.
Any help to do this would be greatly appreciated. the Spring and Contact look like they take a very difficult to replace process. Any reference to any instructions would be great as well.
Thanks
