Hello. We have a IR ADV 4235 that is generating Solid black and halftone prints from edge to edge occur, with White spots as well. After troubleshooting and replacing the power supply, developer, drum, laser and hvt. The DCON was also cleared with no change in symptom. No error codes of any kind were displayed. the boss came across a tech pub # 124026 that states (see attachment):
Solution :
During live trouble shooting, a service mode value gave a small clue to this problem. When checking the problematic machine's value to a working machine's value it was noticed that the value was significantly different. The service mode that was used was SERVICE MODE>COPIER>DISPLAY>HV-STS>PRIMARY. This service mode only shows a value if one checks it during a print or a copy. This service mode value is related to the primary current value.
The working machine had a value of approximately 1595uA. The problematic machine had a value of 4625uA. This would indicate that the primary value was very high. The HVT pcb was already replaced in this case. The solution ended up being related to the primary and it's hvt contact springs. The issue was resolved once the springs were addressed. One of the contact springs was believed to have been grounded out to the frame. The primary bias springs were ordered and replaced. The image quality issue was resolved. Below are images in reference to what is described. The entire bias spring run consists of two parts, they are part #s FC0-2577-000, SPRING, CONTACT and FC9-0992-000, SPRING, CONTACT.
We have ordered the springs but cannot find any instructions on how to install them. The parts catalog show where and how they go but, again, no instructions can be found on replacing them. Any help would be appreciated
