I hava Canon C1030FI that has been running fine for a year. All of a sudden it is constantly getting ready before it copies or prints. I put in a new set of OEM cartridges but that made no differnce. Even copying it just sits there for minutes running before it prints. Black or color. Any ideas what could cause this to happen?

Re: C1030FI constantly warming up.
Yes it has four drums. all new and replaced as I said. There are no error codes. The machine does eventually print or copy after sitting there calibrating I would suspect. The display will say "waiting to copy". Fuser count? What does that matter? There is no shut down count for the fuser. I described exactly what the issue is. This is an Imageclass machine. It doesn't even tell you the toner levels in the cartridges. Just that they are OK. Suspecting one of the cartridges was the right place to start. The transfer belt, fuser assy., toner cartridges are the same as an HP 3600....which was famous for constant calibration. I am going to replace the transfer belt and the fuser also. I was reaching out to see if anyone else had experienced this issue with this model Canon. The 3600 issues were never resolved. It was replaced by the 3800 and 3505.

Re: C1030FI constantly warming up.
They have actually released another update on the firmware for these recently. I would for sure install new firmware. I found one where some " tech " turned OFF the calibration to help the customer print " faster" The quality degrades, toners lose their minds. I was able to fix the problem by installing new toner chips and turning cali back on. The quality came back and it runs great.I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.Comment
