    Advance C250if shading

    I have a C250if that has black shading on the rear side as it sits face down about 3 inches wide in the receiving tray. The black drum log says it has 29370 copies on it. Are these drums known not to go the full amount or is there another cause. It looks like the drum to me but this is my first 250if.

    are they:
    using generic toner?
    does this drum have a PCR or Corona? (if PCR is there buildup on the PCR on that end that the defect is showing?)

    I have had MAJOR success if the PCR has buildup....

    Pull PCR from drum unit
    clean PCR w/ mild soap/water .. dry well
    Apply a coating of Nu-Finish car polish to PCR.. buff off.. repeat

    your finished PCR should have a shiny even color all the way across the roller

    reassemble.

    I could take HP - Ricoh - Canon - Xerox - Samsung from shitty PQ/CQ to crisp blacks and prolonged life w/o recall. Works on B&W and Color drums.

      I think an image of the of the output can do some good so forum members can suggest well. It will explain what you mean by "rear side". Who knows? It might be something else other than the drum.

        The shading will not show up in a scan. If I print out the counter report the shading is on the left side as you are reading it. It would be face down in the tray so the shading is on the back side.

        I was able to take a picture to show the shading. IMG_1109.jpg

          The interval between the first and second shadings points to the drum.
