[Error Code] Canon pro 1000 - 6700 RTC Fatal error

    hi,

Went to a Pro 1000 LFP, which the customer advised that they couldnt do anything on the machine. Arrived on site, machine boots up into home screen and can scroll through the different menus/options. But when actually trying to use any options in the menu, print a document or upgrade, it allows you to select the option required, but then just flashes back to the home screen. If i try upgrading, it says can not find a connection, either through LAN or wireless, even though it pings and finds my android phone, then just goes back to home screen again.

Canon UK advised to replace the Main PCB. Did that today, all via the manual. On plugging back in , the machine displays the canon logo, then the goes into Chinese writing and comes up with a 6700 error. The manual says its a RTC fatal error, that the time is incorrect (poss battery ) which was taken off the original PCB. Service manual says use the support tool to change the time. I downloaded the support tool and via usb cable, couldnt get the support tool to work as in the manual. The latest version of the tool was downloaded but doesnt give me any options to do anything, the machine was in service mode too.

Any ideas of how to get the support tool working and any ideas on the 6700?

    tks

Got it resolved guys, one thing the manual doesnt mention, not that i saw, if you use the service tool, you need to get a license to use it, which I obtained from Canon. Once registered the service tool allows you to change the time via a pc and change the language also via the pc and service mode. The machine now is up and running, just need to do all the adjustments that go with replacing the Main PCB, will do that Monday.
