    Void when scanning to file

    Hey guys,
I have a perceived issue with 2-Canons. A C4045 and a IR3300. The customer is complaining that when they scan documents to their file server they are missing the bottom 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the image. In reality it is leaving a void across the bottom of the scanned doc. Registration and magnification is perfect. Just need to totally eliminate the void? Gone through the service manual but can't find the adjustment? Help.
Oh, one other thing. They showed us scanned documents from 3 previous years with no void (on the top or bottom).

Remove the check mark for 'Choose Paper Source for pdf page size.

Add Check mark "Shrink oversized pages"

Also try, select 'Print as image'

Imho that will help with printing issues, OP seems to have trouble with scanning.
Just an idea, I will set them scanning template at reduced zoom, till problem is solved.
Also not sure what the 'bottom' of page has to do with registration.

A bit more info always helps: When the original is scanned using the adf in portrait mode (using a letter size original), 11 inch side is the lead edge. 8 1/2 edge is the top or bottom (also known as front to rear in copier lingo). Registration is dead nuts on, with no image shift whatsoever. Magnification is exactly 100% compared to a test chart. Everything is exactly where it needs to be except for the large 1/8 to 1/4 inch void at the bottom (front) of the scanned job. This happens when scanning to file or in the copy mode. And does this on both of their Canon's. I know this sounds anal, but they say the customer is always right.

Ok---let me review ---same issue on both ADVANCE4045 and a IR3300 ---two different animals

a copy off the glass has same symptom (" large 1/8 to 1/4 inch void at the bottom (front) of the scanned job. This happens when scanning to file or in the copy mode " )

a scan using ADF has same symptom as stated above

                DADF-H1 ___iR3300

Document Tray Width Adjustment for the DADF-H1

There has been a change in the adjustment procedure for the Document Tray Width Adjustment (A/B Type,Inch Type). Follow the procedure below, to adjust the feeder.

                ================================================== ====

Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder __Advanced 4045

Check to see what size paper is being displayed under FEEDSIZE in Service Mode , after running letter size paper through the feeder.

FEEDSIZE can be found in Service Mode within FEEDER > DISPLAY > FEEDSIZE.
If FEEDSIZE does not indicate LTR, calibrate the tray width guides of the feeder in Service Mode > FEEDER > FUNCTION > LTR and LTR R.

Perform the following in Service Mode > Feeder > Function >, to adjust the side guides.
Highlight TRY-LTR on the screen and place a letter size sheet of paper in the original tray.
Adjust the side guides to the paper and press ok.
Repeat the procedure for TRY-LTRR, by placing the paper in the original tray in the LTRR orientation. Adjust the side guides to the paper, and press ok.

DADF still not detecting correct paper size

Performed tray width adjustments, set SENS-CNF set to 1, cleared RCON and replaced the DADFController and it did not resolve the issue.

                Workaround :
Replacing Interface Cable FM4-8149-000 resolved the issue.
