    canon irc3200 not printing

has anyone heard of this problem?

we got a canon irc3200 connected to the network
we can ping the machine and ping the computer from the copier
we can also get into the machines interface when we enter the IP address
    in explorer
the machine was connected directly to a lap top with a crossover cable and still cant get it to print from the laptop

the gateway and ip are all correct
    we tried different cables
    reloaded the drivers
we can see the machine on the network but cant get it to print

Does or DID the machine have a C1 Fiery connected to it?
If it HAS a Fiery you need the Fiery 1RENE drivers(available on the Canon website) to enable printing via the rip.
If it HAD a Fiery and now has a Canon board you need to tell the machine that fact via Service mode settings.

      Firmware update on ir 3200

We need to do an update on the firmware on an IR 3200 using the network port. It has no parallel port. The latest tool we have is SST 3.34. I understand the newest version handles the problem with duplicate packets being sent. Before I upgrade the firmware on this IR 3200 using only the network port, does anyone have any experience with this scenario? I'd hate to leave this one in worse shape then when it was brought to me. printek@earthlink.net

Is it possible that someone has messed with the restricted print options? I never mess with it but RUMOR has it that if someone sets the allowed for one address, it then defaults to disallow for any not in the allow list.

Other things I would check are the subnet mask (even if IP and GW are correct) and verify the driver you are loading is supported on that specific copier.

For upgrading firmware via NIC you need to use the Canon default I.P address:172.16.1.100 for the copier and 172.16.1.125(or any address within range that works)for the laptop.
You put the copier into Download mode by pressing the 2 and 8 keys at the same time as the machine is switched on....once the machine is switched on in this method it's now automatically locked into that factory I.P setting.
Once you begin loading the new software DO NOT power the machine or laptop down mid download....especially during the RCON upgrade or you'll be left with an expensive paperwieght.

              print problem

sorry for the late responce. replaced the nic card and we were able to get it to print, we first replaced it with one that came out of an older c3200 and it didnt work , we got a c3200 back from a rental and did some testing and found that the nic card from a later manufactuered copier worked. Kind of stumped on this cause we didnt find anything from Canon that refered to changes in nic cards. THANKS FOR REPLY'S
