Customer has an Adv4245 that started making some dark sort of smeared/bleed thru type areas on the copies, tech made some adjustments in service mode, copies were fine when he left. The next day customer said it was doing it again, tech didn't make it back until the following day and everything looked good, could not duplicate problem. Just as he was going to leave it threw an E248-0001 code, no other errors in history. Reseated cables and connectors on CCD and reader controller. Performed an R-Con clear, used back up and restore method, threw the E248-0001 again. If he performs the R-Con clear and does not restore any data, it works fine, at least so far it has.....any ideas? He has not been able to update firmware because they have no internet near this copier, it is in an office at the back of a huge warehouse.
If the error returns we will be replacing the CCD unit, but I'm wanting to know why restoring the data would cause it to error immediately.
