Can't login to RUI on 256if after setting up department codes

Ok... before setting up department codes
login from rui
login 7654321
pass 7654321

after setting up codes
I could login as admin on machine with
login 7654321
pass 7654321

But could not login on rui
here is what was tried

login 7654321
pass 7654321

login Administrator
pass 7654321

login administrator
pass 7654321

login Administrator
pass 1234567

login administrator
pass 1234567

login 1234567
pass 7654321

login 1234567
pass 1234567

login 7654321
pass 1234567

From the copier... I was able to solve all department code problems... but it would be nice to be able to
1. get back into the rui
2. be able to clear the department code off completely by loging into the rui... or service mode...
3. be able to edit department codes from in the rui...


as always any help is appreciated...

Gotta change default pw for admin to be accessible via RUI.

Copier menu. System settings. You should manage from there.

Then that should unlock rui...

Yup. Logically, if adm system password anyone that knows IP would be able to use admin RUI.

#1 Ok... I took a look at an imagerunner advance c250if service manual... I know not a c256if...
Here is something I found...
on page 2-201 of the service manual it lists
Remedy to Be Performed When the Device rui Has Become

Unable to Be Logged in...

is that what you were thinking...
meaning...
create dept id 7654321
create pass 7654321
will fix issue...

or
#2 just set a code for the system mgr...

I am thinking you mean #1

thanks for the two options...

I used to have access to canon technical bulletins... but I no longer have access... new job... could someone check if this issue is dealt with there... to verify that this holds true for 256if and newer copiers

Have you tried doing a pw clear through service mode on the mfp?

it was the web browser...
cleared the cache...
took computer web browser back to factory...
all is well login/ pass 7-1
