Turn the device off. Unplug from wall. Reseat connectors for the feeder/reader, make sure they are connected. Plug back into wall. Turn on.

After the device boots up, do you still have error code? Report back.

Depending where the status bar hangs, you may or may not get into service mode. Try going into service mode and see if there is a error condition.

If you can get into service mode, try deactivating the scanner status, and power off. Disconnect the reader and try rebooting then. If the scanner/reader is hanging the device this step should confirm it.

E490 -0001 -04 Title DADF model mismatch error
            Description
            of detection
DADF that is not supported is installed.
Measures 1. DADF of a different model is installed.
            2. Failure of the reader controller PCB (PCB1)
            3. Failure of the DC controller PCB
            4. Failure of the main controller PCB

You do not see the reader/feeder in service mode? I would check over the reader connections, external to the device for damage, and the internal ones to see if perhaps a ribbon cable is loose. Once you move past that stage looks like a control board issue.

It could be just about anything at this point! Clipped/ pinched wire, bad PCB. Could be a issue with reassembly, or damaged in shipping. The only good news here is that it will be something with the feeder so you cak forget about the DC controller and the devices main controller.
