    networked ir 400 jams

I have an ir 400 networked that will reprint the document from the begining whenever it jams. It will be printing, pauses, appears to shut off, then comes up with a jam. Once you clear the jam it will restart the print job from the begining again.

Any ideas why it does this and how to correct it???

The reprinting is part of the recovery procedure - it ASS-U-MEs you would like a clean copy of the job that just jammed. If you do not want it - cancel the job (before it jams again).

As to why it jams - what is the jam code?

Check paper size detection dials on the paper cassette, assure that they are set to the right sizes meaning LTR,LTR-R,LGL,11x17; Check how the document is set up for printing as for size paper size, Sometimes the machine will jam if the machine is trying to detect the correct size paper but if the dial on the cassette is not set to the appropriate paper size jamming can occur.
