canon IR advance 8295 original detection

I have an IR Advance 8295 that reads all originals plced on glass as 11 X 17. If you use the DF, it works great. I do have the service manual but have been unable to remedy the issue. I've been a Kyocera and Ricoh tech for many years, but not real familiar with this Canon issue. Any help would be appreciated

Check the following:

COPIER> OPTION> FNC-SW> MODEL-SZ>1
COPIER> OPTION>CUSTOM>SCANTYPE>1
LEVEL 2>COPIER> OPTION> FNC-SW> SENS-CNF>1

Usually happens after some type of clear or reset.
