Make sure values in service mode for the machine are what they read from the machines specs that are behind on the front door first..

does it happen in both DADF and Platten Glass Scan . If its only in copy then it eleimates any issue with the printiing section

you have to go to service mode and then adjust the Feed Adjustment , adjust the values in steps of 5, its trial and error depending on how much difference you are having .Exact steps i will have to check out and get back to you . Also check if the paper size is shown correctly on the display panel when you use the DADF.

Try Performing a Width Volume Sensor Adjustment in service mode under feeder adjust.

You are flirting with disaster if you start playing in service mode and don't know what you are affecting. Place a service call

Sounds like you have a registration clutch on the way out in the DADF feed assembly.

Contact a local Canon service dealer if you are the end user.

try swapping the doc feeder for another one to see if that works. if that works then take the old doc feeder back to your shop to troubleshoot.
