    Isensys MF8040Cn

    Hi Guys
    The machine says incorrect paper size after 3 prints all set to A4 . Do I have a feed problem? Registration is ok on the prints .Tnanks stay safe everyone

    well seeing how little info you gave us.... clearly you have a feed problem, but we need more info.

    have you run sensor tests?
    does it actually jam or just indicate it?
    what page counts are on the unit?
    what have you done to try and rectify the problem.

    i see you have been in the industry since 1978....

    is this the amount of info you give canon when you call in?

      Yes service till 8 years ago retired due to ill health I never worked on printers tho. I remember some fax machines would give the same error .Incorrect paper size
      and this used to be caused by miss feeds The printer does not jam so sensors should be ok. Total count is 20269,The machine prints 3 or 4 prints and then says the error, Tks

        Are you sure the aper guides aren't moving?
        What's the condition of the feed parts.

        Here again lack of info is putting a yoke on us helping you.

          Paper guides intact .Feed roller a little wear but not much.I cleaned it with spirits. But what is strange is registration is ok and no service errors just (Incorrect Size/Setting Drawer 1. Sep roller is very good .

              hi,

              seen this when the pick up roller wears, think i saw a video on this site couple of weeks ago how you can take out the roller, move the worn rubber around and refit. Search on you tube its deff on there

                Thanks for reply I have ordered a feed and a sep roller and will fit them when I get them it does not look too difficult . I will let you know the outcome.
