    iR3300 network settings

    Hi Guys,
I feel like a bit of a tourist posting a message in the Canon forum, I usually frequent the KM section.
Anyway, I've just upgraded a Canon iR330 with a Bizhub (I'm sure you guys prefer the Canons, but I'm a KM kinda dude :-)
I'd like to hang the 3300 on our network and generally have a play with it.
Can anyone tell me what I should be doing to access the IP/Subnet/DG etc.
Also, does it scan to SMB/folder/file ?
If you don't want to post the actual engineer access codes, please PM me.
    Thanks in advance

I admit to not having a clue as to what a "bizhub" is, but an iR3300 requires a printer kit in order to be networked as a printer. That would also give it the ability to use a pull type scan called Netgear. Actual scan to file (a push scan) and e-mail will be a no go as that requires an iR3300i.

      Hello,

I'm sort of in the same boat at the min as I'm playing around with a KM C351 with a fiery controller!!! but usually work on Canon's

Setting up the iR is quite simple, press the additional functions key (looks like a head with a star inside) press network settings and select ip address settings. Enter the ip address, subnet mask and gateway (if required) reset the machine to the user screen and switch off. Switch back on and the settings shold have registered.

Load the print drivers (available from the Canon site. recommend the PCL5e driver as the PCL6 has had problems with some machines) as you would any other machine, and Bob's your uncle!

Surprisinglly these machines regard the network settings as user changable!!!

As for scanning you can not 'send' scan on these machines but you can scan to the mailbox (as well as print) and 'pull' scan like you would a normal desktop scanner. For this download the 'Network Scangear' program and documentation from the Canon Website. This will tell you all you need to know about setting it up and how to use it.

Now saying all that, now for a KMC351 request!!! Is there anywhere I can download a fiery program for network scanning? I've tried using the regular scan software I got with the machine but can't get it up and running, and am thinking that the fiery may be 'blocking' it.

Many thanks and have fun, the iR3300's are good workhorses that can go and go well past their supposed life of 1-2 million copies.

Thanks for the info Costd, the machine was from a network enviroment originally. And thanks for heads up on what the iR3300i can do

Wow, I'm blown away - great post !
I will try the procedure you suggest tomorrow.
As for the C351 with Fiery - I'll email you the scanning guide as issued by KM. It's great, covers the C351 with Fiery, shows how to set up scanning to HDD/Email/FTP and SMB. The guide takes you through literally step by step.
          Thanks again :-)

you can access the RUI (Remote User Interface) of the Canon copier the same way you can a KM, type the IP address in the web browser. Just a FYI. Also if you can get your hands on a iR3320 then you could play with all the scanning and email stuff you want. The iR3320 is the same machine as the 3300 just the added features of scanning and email. Both machines are great copiers, money makers as far as service goes. They fall under the keep it simple stupid category.
