[Jamming] Canon IR Adv C7270i Registration Feed Assembly Jams

    Hi All,

I am currently experiencing issues with the Registration Feed Assembly.
Every few prints(Random, not specific) the paper will jam in the registration feed assembly.
The paper will feed into the unit, then crinkle the paper and the second row of rollers.

I have cleaned the rollers, turned paper over, in case of moisture.
we use to have issue due to the weight and type of the paper but was resolved.

I did suspect a possible solenoid, I know its not on the registration feed assembly, so it would have to be in the main body of the machine.

Can anyone help or have any suggestions??

did you clean the reg sensor?

have you run sensor test in SM?

what error code is it popping?

Thanks Phil B for the suggestions.

I have cleaned the row of sensors in the registration assembly. used compress air and then a damp cotton bud,
I also ran the sensor test. it came back OK.

as for an error code, there is none, beside the paper jam code that identifies the location.

I could try and run the sensor test multiple times.
Will check how many times it jams for a 20 page print and run the sensor test an identical amount of times.
It might produce some sort of error then.

will test tomorrow morning and will report back.

did you put a paper in that spot when running the sensor test?
it could be out of place and just a hit n miss scenario

have you pulled reg assy and actually LOOK at the sensor?
what are the feed tires looking like?
what are the total pages counts.
look at the error log... what are the codes there?

I have taken the reg assy out. The sensors are fine. disassembled.
It seems someone stuck something pointy in there to remove paper and the metal had a small edge on it.
the paper was grabbing on the edge at random times.
Sanded it and its good now.

just need to clean the paper path and other rollers now as work was being done and they didn't cover the copier with dust sheets.

thanks for the help. seems like it was an id10T error.
