Canon Imagerunner 7200 - screen not powering up or working

As simple as the title asks. It is a used copier acquired from a school that recently upgraded their copiers. It did work fine at the school. I have not been able to get it going since I installed it in my office.

The green power light on the panel does light up; I can hear a fan turn on and run when I power up the copier.

I purchased an exploded view-type manual to take it apart and verify all internal cables and such are attached appropriately.

Any chance there is someone out there that can help, or at least point me in the right direction to troubleshoot?

Check to see if you main controller is getting power. Reseat Dimm chips (ram) and connectors in the main controller, also check and see if the scanner light comes on when you turn on the machine. You can also have problems with the reader unit. This issue or problem your having could be couple of things.

    Good Luck,
    ScrewTape.

Also check the operation panel / keyboard. I had one that I went totally over it and it turned out to be the keyboard. It had gotten wet at one time I guess, I cleaned the whole thing and presto the machine worked.

If the green power light on the panel does light up then the problem might be on the BOOT ROM. Change it or you can clean it with pencil eraser. Check also the connector from the main controller to the panel.

There's a glass fuse on the control panel LCD pcb that blows from time to time.
Does the machine make it to initial rotation?
As Nivss stated..if the machine has had the print kit removed and has been returned to a C bootrom the rom may not be seated correctly.

Also check that the machine didn't have a card reader attached, a lot of schools have them for dept. use.

When they get rid of machines they take the equipment off but don't reset the service mode to tell the machine to work.
