Canon 1730i Scan via USB (Is it possible ?)

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum (just signed up) and i need help,if anybody is available. I have this Canon Imagerunner 1730i and i desperately need to scan to my PC using an USB cord/cable. I cannot use network scanning because i use a VPN which doesn't allow me to acces any sort of internet. I've tried to disable split tunneling but seems impossible,so i must set-up the copier to scan via usb. I'd be flattered if somebody can help (or just tell me it can't be done if it can't). Thanks in advance

The only way you can scan with USB cable is by using a USB memory stick plugged into the copier and scanning to that under the OPTIONS heading.
