2020i 'hung'

Hope people have some input for this-

have ir2020i when switched on screen appears for about 4-5 seconds progress bar does NOT move.

have reseated everything tried different memory=nothing

I cannot find a 'safe' download mode ,as i belive the system software should just need to be reloaded-bear in mind this machine does not have the traditonal boot rom,hdd architecture.

any thoughts?

have observed all ati issued by canon and spoken with helpdesk.

Press and hold the # 2 key and then power on the copier. Wait a couple of seconds as the canon logo will display and then go into download mode.

Try to reload firmware, it will locate in USB memory 128MB. That model does not use HDD as other series.

thanks screwtape, but that doesnt work presume you meant hold down #2 when power up?

Press and hold the #2 key and then power on the copier. Is the same as you saying "you meant hold down #2 when power up?" I don't understand whats the difference. But i hope your problem was resolve and its always a pleasure to help. Take care!
