    If prints are OK, but copies are light.. clean the optics (glass/mirrors/Lamp/Lens). Not enough of the image if being projected on the drum.

        Agree with above answers, almost sounds like you skipped the basics. Also make sure toner save or its Canon equivalent function is turned off.
