    Scan to Mail with Gmail

    Hi All,

    I don't know if it was already said, but i leave here a process to scan to folder with a Gmail adress.
    Hope it can help.
    (I first made it in French and translated it with google)


    Sending a "Scan to Mail" with a Gmail adress


    Step 1: Set up the Google account

    Enable two-step verification
    1. Access your Google account.
    2. In the navigation panel, select Security.
    3. Under "Sign in to Google", select Two-step verification --> Get started.
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

    Generate an app password
    1. Access your Google account.
    2. In the navigation panel, select Security.
    3. Under "Sign in to Google", select Application passwords (or App passwords)
    4. Under "Select an application", choose "Other" and enter a name (ex: C3520i)
    5. Click Generate
    6. Copy the password generated in the yellow zone


    Step 2: Configure the copier

    If the capture is too small, these are the fields tou have to enter or check:

    SMTP Server : smtp.gmail.com
    Enter your email adress

    TX SMTP : 587 (

    Check Allow TLS (TX SMTP)
    Check Use SMTP authentication
    Enter your email adress
    Enter the password generatded in App Passwords

    Choose "Always TLS" in the field Allow TLS (RX SMTP)

    Gmail does not plan to enforce 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) until Feb 2021.

    You can probably save yourself a lot of callbacks if you start configuring your copier for 2FA today.
