The M and C drums are dirty and about 2/3rd of life. The t-belt is at 127% of life. May be I'm chasing my tail here.
This is my second call for this problem. The first time out it only had the cyan band at the bottom. I removed the t-belt and vacuumed
out the loose toner and ran a clean cloth under the blade. When I turned the belt by hand I could see the auger turning.
Wiped off the secondary t-roller and still had slight cyan band. I ordered the
cyan drum. When I came back the machine was running good, no background. So the customer paid for that call and bought the drum unit.
I did not replace the cyan drum unit at that time because the prints looked good.
1 week or so later the cyan background is back and now it has magenta background as well.
The waste toner bottle was half full.
The question concerns the waste toner. It has that oval shape opening for the chute to fit into. When it gets full it pushes down on the spring
and trips the sensor. When that happens does it allow the waste toner chute to close?
I know I will have to replace the t-belt with the high count and secondary t-roller.
So while I was sitting here inputting this post the machine ran a couple hundred pages that were in the print cue and they are starting to look better.
I did put my vacuum on the waste toner chute and vacuum toner out of it and tapped on it and vacuumed some more.
Has anyone had this problem that may be the waste toner chute on the t-belt assy is not opening? I have not had to dig into that part of this machine
and was hoping that I would not have to at this point. Am I headed in the right direction?
Hope everyone is well and still working
