    I have a Canon ir8505

Turning it on, the power light comes on, then the Energy saver light comes and start pulsating, the copier does it dance, but nothing on the screen.
unplugged the copier for 5 minutes, same results after turning it on, holding #28 button resulted in nothing, same pulsating energy light, sometime it'll stop maybe flashes 5 or 6 times
I wonder if anyone seen this happened to a 8505 machine..

    Any suggestions is appreciated .

    Thanks

One of three things you could check.

    1. Main Controller 1 and 2
    2. HDD
    3. Engine Board.

I had at least one of these three go haywire before.

I had changed the HDD, possible it failed, did work for a year so maybe it was a bad hdd.
