IR 2270 & 2870: Issues?

    IR 2270 & 2870: Issues?

    Hi all,
    I'm planning to purchase one of these machines for my company. I was wondering if there were any known technical issues with these models?

      Yes...there WERE issues when the model was first released ...but there have been numerous mods for these machines that have now made them as reliable as their 2200 ancestors....they're a decent machine.
      I work at a University campus with 17 of them(and their updated brethren 3025/3035/3245 etc) and services are pretty easy.

          Common issues like jamming but was rectified with upgraded parts. However if you purchase a recent model such as ir2270/2870 most likey those upgraded parts are not installed into this model, in fact this model has been discontinued, they now have newer models like ir3025/3045/ETC. I would just invest into the newer models.

              I concur... this series had some issues but Canon saved face and came out with suitable mods for every issue I have seen. We have dozens out in the field with no real "issues" any longer. As long as the machine was maintained by a reputable dealership you shouldn't have any problems
