    [Error Code] Iradvc3730DX - E996-0CB8

    Hey,

hope everyone is keeping safe and well? Went to a 3730DX today with Error E996-0CB8. Service manual doesnt really say alot about it apart from the remedy is to collect Debug logs onto a USB stick and send it to Canon. The machine is less than a year old, 40k and in a very clean environment.

The machine starts up, progress bar goes along but then sounds like its trying to reboot even though it doesnt, the progress bar reaches the end pretty quickly as normal, then goes into the above error. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, no difference. Checked all the connections on the board, all seem ok. Very unusual error and never seen the remedy of sending debug logs to canon. Nothing on SIMS or backend. I will be logging a call with the remedy team in Canon and sending the info from the machine to them. Any ideas?

    tks

Try booting it with front or right door open, see if the machine will ever get to the screen that tells you to close the door.

      "COPIER (LEVEL2)> OPTION> FNC-SW> JM-ERR-D" to "1", try this

thanks for the responses guys, I havent been back to the site yet, i have given canon the RPT files from the machine and canon UK have passed this to Canon Europe, the customer is mainly closed at the moment due to covid and have back up machines, so when i get back there, I will try the above remedies and see what Canon come up with also.

        tks

I believe mr. Tlanza get a point. This jam code is displayed as an error code that can be turned on and off in service mode.

            hi again,

just an update on whats happening. I visited the site today and rang the Canon Remedy team in the UK whilst on site. They asked to do the above

"COPIER (LEVEL2)> OPTION> FNC-SW> JM-ERR-D" to "1" but made no difference. I can boot the machine with the front door open and once the main screen is up with the error , i can go to home screen, paper select etc, so the HDD and system seems to be working. The remedy team suggest its the main controller even though the diagnostic check passes all boards. They sent some files to Japan to diagnose the fault but said that could take some time. We went thru the LEDs that were lit on the main controller and he suggests thats all ok. Canon seem to be at a bit of a loss with this, all connections between main and DC are all ok. The machine has only 20k on it and is about 8 months old or so. Canon did say that they have had issues with the power supply but suggest i replace the main controller, so once i get authorization to order it, ill go ahead with that. Ill keep you all informed. tks for the help btw

              hey again,

well i replaced the main controller as suggested by Canon, and she is working like a good un again. Ive no idea why it would pass the board check and still come up with the error, but the main controller fixed the weird fault.

thanks for all the help, much appreciated
