I have been using Word Mail Merge and this machine for years now, but of late the alignment starts shifting after a few prints and then comes back to normal and then shifts again. I then stop the print and amend the alignment to restart the job again. I print 1000s of documents and it's frustrating to keep setting the alignment in Word as per the machine. I still don't know if this is a problem with Word or the printer. Does anyone have any inputs about this please?

You are probably not a tech. To avoid word problems machine has its own test print in service mode. The device has sensors to adjust the position of the image. If the sensors are dirty, this can happen. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Re: iR7105 Messing up alignment while printing
You're spot on, I'm not a tech, just an end user. I am now told by an engineer that it could be a problem with the stationery I'm using, since it's pre-printed it could be the ink that is causing problems on the roller and affecting the path.Comment

Yes, it happens with all the trays. Feed tyres are all pretty new. Got an engineer to clean all the rollers as they had ink deposits from the pre-printed stationery, it ran OK for 10K prints and then the jams started again near the heat unit.Comment

Replace the registration roller clutch, and check, if the rollers itself are in good condition and their bearings are okIf sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions!Comment
