[Misc] CANON C5550i Scanner Problem

Dear Friends

Got a problem with C5550i
A yellow 3cm bar appears on Scan & Copy.
B / W copy & scan OK.
Internal color printouts and prints from PC are all OK.
Drum ITB as good as new.
Seems like a scanner problem. Glass etc. everything clean.

I am grateful for all suggestions.

have a problem with C5550i.
Scan & Copy display a yellow 3 cm bar.
B / W copying and scanning OK.
Internal color printouts and printouts from the PC are okay.
ITB drum as good as new.

Do one colour copy from the glass at standard settings
Do another with a magnification of say 25% does the yellow line move?

Could it be dirt on the scanner white reference plate? Kyocera's have this under the main scanner glass, I have forgotten where this is on a Canon.
Take the slit glass and main glass out and look for a white strip underneath, clean it.

Problem solved: It was the lower scanner unit.
