[Jamming] Canon Imagepress C7010VP jam with felt-market paper

Hello, I'm nearly retired engineer technician with 40 years experience in electronic design,
to help my doughter starting a new activity making small folding small box we buyed (from a printing company) a used imagepress C7010VP with a low price (well maintained from Canon head office Italy untill replaced 18 months ago).
Canon do not direct maintain anymore this machines, but with some support tip, I'm confident I can do tech maintenace my self.
The printing quality is very good and we mainly print 300gsm stock. Printing plain paper SBS (coated or uncoated) or recycled the machine perfom well, but when we try to print any kind of felt-marked paper even with small marked the printer jam in the position E, the paper simply stop there.
I try several paper setup but no way. Not sure if this is a common behaviour of this printer or could be a sensor in that area not working fine.
If someone have some tip to try I will appreciate any support. Thank you.

    hello ,

this printer is way old and its service is kind of not easy . i have been working on them for quite a time .

first of all i want to make sure you are using the correct paper profile (textured) and the correct size .

The size is 320x450mm SRA3, I have try to select textured too but still jam.
Just stop paper in the E position, not any mechanical obstruction, I open the cover and the sheet is there.
Today I'm at home, tomorrow will check the jam code from service mode and will get back.
      Thank you for your support

i'm sure that media doesn't fall within specs for this copier. can you post the label from the papers package?

to work on this machine I would locate a service manual.

        what is the error code?

Hello, the error code is 0D00, from SM is related with paper tickness. I misunderstood by thinking that was paper texture.
The sensor UN179 sensitivity is on rank value 3. Still have to play with the sensitivity value but honestly the media I'm using is around 400-430um, so execeed the rated value 380um. My primary use is to print 300-320gsm various kind paper, if from your experience there is way to do this. As a note, from the printer paper labrary I can see that the previous owner used widely the same paper I'm try to use, so my doubt is also if the sensor is coming out of specs.

Try to find a Canon dealer who is willing to send out a tech for a couple hundred dollars to have a quick look at it. This Model is a monster. My guess is you have some feed tires, or cluch, or something mechanical that is worn out. Dont think its simply the paper.

the paper is out of specs , it should not be used on the machine even if it could be fed and printed .

if you are still willing to pass it , you can try adjusting the feeding registration motors speeds .

                Thanks for support.

In my area is not easy find an experienced Canon tech for production printers, this machine was under contract with Canon Italy direct, and they don't care more about this old model.
Aniway the behaviour is strange, same sheets paper pearl series 320gsm tickness whitin specs, the cream color pass the light gray stop there.
I have doubt the sensor is going out of specs. I will work around.

Could you let me know the step to "try adjusting the feeding registration motors speeds"

Hello, I want update the post as solved. The issue was in the instability of thickness sensor, I have replaced and all work very fine. Thanks
