ULM on IrAdvance C5550

First time using ULM so forgive my stupid question
what I have done so far:
install and activated ULM, add few users, can log in no problem. But my intention was to lock for unauthorized print jobs so created 2 department ID, assign them to user from ULM , turn on Department ID Management, now cant log in , but when department ID management is turn off , can log in no problem. But than machine print all jobs even without user/pin

Settings/Registration : Function Settings : Printer > Print/ Force Hold

hmm...I think you have to choose between using ULM or ID management.

I find ULM a pain so when given the choice I'd use ID management provided you don't have multiple copiers/users to constantly track. Restrict everything and add the ID pin to the print drivers on the computers.

You right, department ID wit user codes works great but than you need to type user name and password, instead of just pick your pic and then type password for ULM. Funny things that i have been told ages ago on Canon course to use ULM as it is better , hmm . Anyway I have set up department ID along with user codes and customer happy with it
