Hello, I have a C5540i with a booklet finisher. The image is fine but when folding/saddle stitching the staples are where it's supposed to be but the fold was off though -both the stapling and fold are now inline with each other.
It was totally fine previously but issue started with no known changes. I looked over the finisher and could not see anything. In frustration, I just swapped the entire finisher and the issue persisted which would indicate it's not the finisher?!?
Firmware was updated and downgraded -no change.
Booklet finisher was cleaned and looked over -couldn't see any issues
Booklet finisher was swapped with no difference to the fold.
Fuser was swapped as it was fairly high mileage and maybe the nip was slowing the paper down enough?
I did temporarily resolve the issue by going into service mode and changing the sorter setting to SADL-FLD from -5 to -18 and that sort of works but I want to actually figure out the issue incase the issue gets worse since the setting maxes out at -20.
There is was also a slight skew with the fold after the correction; off by 1-1.5mm on one corner of the fold, which is acceptable by the customer.
Not a huge amount of experience with finishers so any ideas will be most helpful.
