    C3830i tray switching sort of

Scenario: customer's C3830i print queue is paused due to a job requiring A3, but no A3 is available in any trays, but there are other A4 jobs waiting in queue. Is there an option to allow the printer to hold/bypass the jobs it can't print and instead prioritise printing the jobs it can rather than pausing on the job it has no paper for?

I've looked through all the menus I can, but I can't find what im looking for. I'm sure I've just missed it. It's like tray switching, but to coniltimue printing other jobs requiring a different size.

In any case, the printer must finish the file it started printing. For example, to print an A3 job on A4 if A3 runs out. Only then will the jobs in the queue be printed.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Not sure if this works for the model but:

Select [System Settings] - [Job Priority Operation Settings] in administrator mode of Web Connection (or in [Utility] - [Administrator] of this machine), and configure the following settings.
[Fax RX Job Priority] When giving priority to fax printing during copying or printing, set this option to ON (default: OFF).
[Skip Job (Fax)] To first process the next fax job when printing stops due to a shortage of paper or overloaded output tray, set this option to ON (default: ON).
[Skip Job (Copy, Print)] To first process the next job other than fax when printing stops due to a shortage of paper or overloaded output tray, set this option to ON (default: ON).
