Canon NP 6035F Copy Quality Adjustments

I was wondering what some adjustments for copy quality are for this copier? I tried following Jim Intravias books when trying to adjust the copy quality issue, but had no luck. I suspect the problem could be related to the drum unit. What sort of problems can occur with the document feeder on this machine? I do not know the model number, but customer was complaining about it not feeding their originals. I cleaned the primary feed belts in the feeder and it was working when I left but don't know for how long. Any help appreciated, thank you.

That feeder is notorious for problems related to the 4 tractor belts, replace them, the belts simply stretch over time. After you replace the belts adj the middle small black screw below them for proper seperation. Be sure to clean the sep rollers directly below the tractor belts. Copy quality problems could relate to many things, if you put a new drum in be sure to run the set up procedure in *28* function mode.

The other thing that goes wrong on that feeder (A-1) is the counter motor can get hung up (black tab on the rear tray guide) If it does not flip out the feeder will not work. Remove the motor and check for clearance at the motor arm.

An NP6035 has a C1 document feeder...the belts are for separation. It uses a feed roll shaft with 9 or 10 feed tires on it. The tires dry out before they wear out. Replace the whole assembly...shaft with new tires. The end of the shaft gets scored where the drive gear is...there is a one way clutch inside the gear. Replace the gear also. Yes the re-circulating arms come loose and the motors themselves get flat spots on the armatures. The board that it is mounted on gets cracked solder joints. Also the harness from the adf pwb to the document tray gets breaks in the wires from adjusting the guides back and forth. The 2 pick up tires dry out also. Address these areas and that feeder will work great for about 5 years.

Opps, canuck is correct, I have been working on way to many IR 330/400 (A1) feeders which is what my previous post applies to...

          Canon NP 6035F copy Quality/ADF

Are the parts for the adf dealer only? I worked on the copier for a different problem main switch kept turning off was caused by bad exposure lamp. Replaced lamp and heat roller and bearings. I did clean all optics however copies came out dark. Don't know how to either increase lamp voltage or decrease amount of charge to drum. The drum unit in this copier is the old. Please inform.
          Thank-you

Disregard my first post, I was thinking IR 400 (A1) for some reason.
After market drums IMO never really worked to well in the NP 6035, OEM drum unit is NPG13 drum unit. *3* in service mode for adjustments, if you replace the drum set the values on the front of the drum unit in *3* under primary and offset then *4* to initiate the settings, check to the service manual for proper exposure settings.
