    Load paper ir7105

I have notice on most of the 7105's that have 2million and up that they have this message "Load Paper" Its not an unusual problem, of course I check the sensors on the pick up ass'y, I also check to see if the lifter motors work and every thing seems to work the way it should. If I put 500 sheets of paper it loads, if I put 1500 sheets of paper it doesn't load. I was thinking that the weight of the paper weighs down the decks and on the pick up ass'y the cam by the lever release doesn't cam up enough to block the sensor to start the lifter motor. I notice that over due time the plate rails that hold the rails start to bent, this also creates jams. I going to replace these parts and see if it makes a difference with the load paper message and maybe it will reduce some jamming as well. Has anyone else notice this?

I did have similar problems on ir105 , on deck 1 lifting gear on the deck was broken , the other was problem with the DC PCB, then the usual sensor problem. On deck 2 i am yet to find a solution. Most of my machines run only from deck 1 :-)
a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one

I'm aware of this type of problem and its fixes, I don't have a problem fixing this, I just wanted to add another cause of what my observation is for this issue. Lets say its a FYI, just something else to keep in mind when troubleshooting this type problem. Thanks for the tips anyway.

when refering to drawer #1 . on the top of the drawer is a white plastic lever that that inter locks with the pickup assy. the common fix is to bend the small metal arm on the pick up assy. however that limits how far the pick up rollers drop.there is a metal tab above the drawer, on the machine, winch interlocks with that white lever, that you can adjust (bend) down. and that gives more lift to the white lever winch inter locks more positively with the pick up assy. that metal tab on the machine gets bent up out of place after the coustomer slames the drawer closed several hundred times. my technical skills are stronger than my litterary skills. I never had an english teacher that liked me . I can fix just about any machine winch pays my bills . I never made a dime diagraming sentences. go figure.

I know this post is for the tray one problem but i have had troubles out of tray two.The tray doesnt seem to want to feed although the tray is at the correct height.Feed head has been replaced and still the problem exists.Tray rails have been checked and the sep roller assy has been checked as well.
If anybody has an answer i would be more than happy to try what you have had success with.

This problem can happen on deck two as well. Check the jam stopper, its located at the rear area of the deck its a white piece with one screw. Sometimes it gets bent downwards.

tray #2 feeds up into the duplex tray, make sure the guides are clear of obstruction and that the duplex tray is sitting in machine correctly.

For tray 2/left deck makes sure white plastic ramp is installed on deck(mounted on bent piece of sheet metal). I have had problems on 105 and 7105 for load paper. In service mode do a sens-init for trays. This checks to see if tramsmitter and receiver are lined up in pick-up assemblies. Light passes thru the prism mounted on the metal plate that you remove to replace feed rolls. Make sure its clean and you may have to bend the tx/rx brackets. For some reason these models will display load paper when sensors arent right/dirty/lined up.

Have checked all the above and even went as far as to replace the 2nd feed assy.Wasnt till i shimmed the left side rail that i got it to feed. Also had to adjust the sep pressure to get it to feed all the time.
