    Send function licensing on irc3380i

I hadn't realised this was apparently a licensed feature.
I've scanned stuff using this and it's been fine, but now no longer works reporting "the number of trials allowed for using the Send function has reached the limit".
My guess is this will be difficult to solve. I bought the unit second hand and have no records of what licenses were purchased for it.
If this is a payable feature that can be activated, I guess it isn't cheap? I don't use it that frequently.
I can work around the problem putting the unit into scan mode and then "pulling" the scans from a PC, but it's far more convenient to be able to do it from the printer.
Based in the UK, do I contact Canon UK for this? A distributor?

Should I just continue scanning from a PC instead? Any other ideas?

It looks like I'm going to have to give up on this.

The printer no longer has a support contract on it, I contacted Canon and asked if I could buy the licence but as the printer is considered end of life, they've said there's nothing they can do

Thanks for the heads-up regarding the "used" - I'll know not to fall into a scamming trap if someone offers it to me! And judging by the email response I had from Canon, I doubt they would entertain transferring the licence from another machine anyway. And yes, it was a trial licence with 100 odd scans. It's just I was caught out as there's no indication it's on a trial until it suddenly stops! The Canon service engineer I bought the printer from had never even heard about it!
