    8500 mailbox full

8500 mailbox shows 28% memory used, 8500 display shows 70% memory available but i am not able to scan additional pages to mailbox ,I get memory full message.
Could there be an option which allocates memory to mailbox? How to allocate mailbox memory to say around 85%-90%

    You can try running scandisk.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

Is this a network printer? If it is You can back up the files thru RUI, save it some were your client computer or server. I believe before on the Ir600 you allocate the amount of Image Server hard disk space allocated to the mailboxes?

      1. Select Additional Functions.
      2. Choose Image Server Custom Settings, HD Memory Assignment.
      3. Select Store/Erase Button.
      4. Then you can increase the amount by choosing the up or down arrows.
      5. Select OK.

This is a example from the ir600.
Not sure if the same feature is on the ir8500.

How many pages are you trying to scan? I don't believe you can re-allocate memory on the 8500. I would still try a scan disk if you haven't yet. It won't erase anything and it might resolve your issue. If not, at least you've performed some HDD maintenance. Before you turn on the machine hold the 1 & 9 buttons and keep them held as you turn on the machien. Hold them until you see the scan disk start. Let it run until is finished.
