C5235, "leaking" colors and smudge etc

Look at the attachments, why is this happening?

    Some thoughts:
    - Is this a bad fixing roller? Can it be cleaned or do I need to buy a new one?

    - The paper is quite glossy ("Mondi Color Copy" paper). Doesn't the toner stick to the paper?

    - I recently swapped the drum and charging roller for magenta and yellow. I didn't insert new cleaning blades though, can it be that?
This seems like the most likely fault, but it happens for all colors which feels strange.

    Tia,
    Andreas

Open the right door and look at the transfer belt. If it is dirty, itb blade needs to be replaced. You can also check the condition of the fuser by looking at the orange roller.
There is also the possibility that heavy paper is not selected and you got a smear heater.

Does it smudge on regular paper? Toner doesn't "stick" to paper. It is fused into it.

        Thanks for the input guys.
I haven't got time to do any more testing, I printed it on another printer I have access to with splendid result (Konica Minolta c280, same glossy paper (100g btw)).

I'm leaving for Copenhagen, will be back with more testing next week.

Take out the fuser, attached to the fixing film unit, there is a small blade to prevent paper from wrapping. It builds up with dirt/toner/stock residue

Replace it or clean it off and try again.

Make sure the paper is spec properly at the machine.

            hi,

looks like it isnt fusing properly. What is the life on the fixing film assy? Ive seen this alot when customers are using 80gsm paper and do prints like photos or heavy toner coverage on a page. The machine does not have enough time to fuse it as it prints too quick. Can ask the customer to use slightly heavier paper, say 100gsm. As another post says, give the blade a good clean as alot of gunk builds up on that.

I know it looks a lot like fuser / paper settings and timing but you could also have a bad leaking dev unit. As in carrier being transported and settled onto the fuser pressure roller. It will cause some very smeared defect like this. Most of the dev roller will be white and streaking. Replace dev unit and run about 60 + sheets to clean everything off.
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.
