    help scan to email on CANON IR3570

    i setup a canon IR3570 copier for a customer and they requested scan to email option. customer has a simple network, no server just connected via router, (peer to peer).

    In email settings i put smtp = mail.bigpond.com.au (i got these details from customers outlook settings)
    pop = pop.ca.com.au
    i didnt know what to put in for user name, password or smtp/pop email.
    i have smtp and pop both activated and authentication activated, the outcome would be that it would say "resending" then it will print out an error report..

    can anyone help me with a detailed explanation on how i can get scan to email setup correctly....it would be a LIFE SAVER...

    MUCH APPRECIATED

    You have incorrect info!
    smtp = mail.bigpond.com.au, If this there Email carrier, I suggest you have customer give them a call to get the proper credentials Dns settings if possible.

    pop = pop.ca.com.au
    This is only if you want to receive email, the machine will not need this..

    If this is the smtp = mail.bigpond.com.au, that's fine.
    The machine needs a email address as well, like>
    Scanner@bigpond.com

    "i have smtp and pop both activated and authentication activated"

    You do not need pop to be activated, and if you authentication you should have no problem.

    You also have the option to scan to folder on a workstation and share that folder out, or create sub-folders within that folder that's was setup, so that each individual can have there own scan folder and could scan to anybody.
