If you are not using an Imagepass or Colorpass RIP the PostScript driver that you are using is not true PostScript...it is emulated. You will probably get the same if not better color matching with the UFRII driver. Read the broucher carefully...without rip it is emulated PostScript. Get a RIP, set it to RIP while printing and your PDFs will print quicker. If not UFR probably quicker. With RIP you use a Fiery driver

hey...just a quick update
- Ive setup a new test printer queue
- configured and installed the lastest Canon PS3 drivers Ver4.60.
Ive performed tests on PDF files which were known to display the symptom and be problematic with really slow printing.
The result is: the pdf files spooled and printed instantly.
note. OMG it takes alot to impress me and let me tell you now Im really impressed with these new PS3Ver4.60 drivers...awesome!!!
now where to from here...

Trial them for this week just to make sure that they're not going to do anything erratic and then update your print drivers using the v4.60 drivers or
my best advice is to just put up a new print queue using this driver and point the users who have been having the issue towards that queue.Comment

This driver hasn't been released by Canon for distribution to the general public.
It was given to me by Canon Tech Support to test for the particular issue of pdf files printing slowly.
It IS a test driver and hasn't officially been rolled out by Canon.
*dd* got a copy of the driver because her problem is what the driver was designed for..AND she's in Australia...if it all went to crap i could have spoken with her on the phone to rectify any problems.Comment

I've had this problem with ImageRunners for a long time and have never found a resolution.
Currently I've got a 6020 that's having the same problem printing PDF files... it can take a minute per page or more.
I got the 4.62 PS3 drivers from Canon Canada but they didn't help matters much (or if at all) compared to 4.55. I'm using Acrobat 8 Pro. Users Acrobat Reader (all versions that I've ever tried) all have the same issue.
If anyone has any other suggestions I'd be very happy to hear them!Comment
