Customer came into the office and C5540 said "Checking the data....Do no turn off the main power. Remaining time 1 minute." It stayed that way for hours, when we arrived, we replaced the hard drive and got an E602-0001. Came back out next day with another hard drive just to make sure our other one wasn't faulty and got the same E602-0001. Put customers original drive back in and got the same Checking the data message, it started out as 100 minutes remaining but very quickly went to 1 minute and stayed that way. I haven't seen this issue on these newer models so was hoping someone could shed some light if they have experienced this before. My first instinct is to replace the Main Controller that the hard drive plugs into, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: C5540 won't boot up
The copier gave an E602-0001 with the new hard drives so couldn't do anything. These drives came out of working c5540 units so we know the drives are good.Comment

Re: C5540 won't boot up
Thank you, that is nice to know. 26 years in this business and I have always used hard drives from other copiers. Are there any other items that can't be swapped anymore, like the Main Controller?Comment
