Advice/Firmware wanted for iR2220n HDD install

Hello wise and knowledgeable copy techs,

I've got an iR2220n that recently gave me an E602-0001 error, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to try to replace the HDD. I've done the disk check/defrag by holding down 1+9 without any luck. It just says "Download Mode" This board seems to have a lot of really knowledgeable people, so here I am.

Does anyone happen to have the firmware for an iR2220n?

I do have the SST, and also the firmware for an iR2200n - would that possibly be compatible?

Lastly, does anyone have any tips regarding the location/removal of the HDD on an iR2220n, or perhaps have a service manual they could share with me? As a last ditch effort I may just try making an image of the drive.

As you can tell I'm not very experienced with copy machines, but boss says I have to try to fix it anyway. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice you could give me. You can e-mail at wightlight88 at gmail dot com

    Thank you!

Well, I found the hard drive, but it's too far gone to get an image off it. Looks like the firmware is my only hope - if anyone can hook me up / direct me to where to look, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Thanks to a very kind forum member who provided me with the firmware, I was able to successfully install and format the new drive.

Just a few notes for anyone else who may be a beginner at this:

      - I used a non-standard Hitachi HDD from an old laptop. Editing the IFT file as per here worked beautifully. There was an entry almost exactly the same that I was able to copy.
      - At first I just did a quick format of the drive. I kept getting the pink screen of death until I low level formatted the drive. After that it worked like a charm. used this to do it: HDDGURU: HDD Low Level Format Tool

Thanks to everyone on this forum whose posts helped me through this process. ya'll rock! I may call on your expertise again if anything doesn't work properly =)

      Thanks again.
