Canon Imageclass printer cycling power on and off continuously

We have had a number of Canon Imageclass MF743cdw and MF445dw that have started cycling power on and off continuously. Canon will obviously replace it under warranty but we had a time or 2 that the replacement started doing it right way. I suspect it is power related, however once this happens it appears to permanently damage something as moving to another power source will not solve the issue. Yes Canon does replace it but I would still like to get tot eh bottom of it as it is a pain to through warranty with them.

    Anyone else seen this?

Lets see, it has been over 10 hours since you posted this. If you had posted it in the proper Canon forum you most likely would have had an answer from a number of top Canon techs. Instead you are getting lectured by an old fart Ricoh retired tech.

Have you monitored your power for any type of issues? Not with a volt-ohm meter, but a serious piece of monitoring equipment.

I once had a very large school (K-12 all in the same building) across the street from a factory that played havoc with the electricity for a fairly large area. A low end monitor was all we had to test with, and it showed no problems.

We upgraded an older generation of Ricoh machines that had no issues, but the newer ones, no matter which section of the school they were in, had continuous errors. Something about the way their internal power filtering and power supplies were designed, apparently.

When we pulled those machines out and resold them (at a loss, of course), they were perfectly content in their new homes.

Thanks for pointing this out. I thought I had posted it in the Canon forum. My mistake. I reposted it.
