hi guys im just wondring why in this machine when im in download mode it cannot connect to my pc via rj45 but if im in service mode in function system download it can.im using standar ip of cannon.any can help me please.

I'm using SST 3.34E
after you select the firmware you want to update
the interface box would show on the top of the window.
you can choose between Bi-centro or Network
if you choose network, it will show the IP address.
click the drop down to see if the IP address is there.
if the IP is not there, you can just key-in then click register.

ok thank you bro.ive fund out that the problem is on the machine i flash system in 2 machines the other one when i am in download mode it saya download mode (can't initialize) that machine cannot be flash when i am in download mode.

I've seen this before in my case it was the HDD. The machine that i was having this problem on was 5000, 1&7 was not available on this model,which is FIXIP MODE ,so I did not have the 1&7 option. But my point is. Your HDD may be good, as you mention you don't have problem trying to flash the copier thru service mode. Are you aware of the jumper on the hard drive being set at cable select causes this problem. To resolve the problem set the jumper on the hard drive to master. See the jumper settings chart below. The hard drives will change as the old ones become unavailable,check the label on the hard drive that is being installed for the correct jumper settings. I'm not sure if you have replaced the HDD then encounter this problem. Another possibility would be the Main controller.

thanks for the replay screew tape it means i have to look for the cable weather it is for ide or ata drive?even i change the hard drive or put the original one still the download mode cant initialize.

Where are you getting the message, on the copier or from the SST?

Just wanna eliminate any confusion..

My error message was on the copier (download mode cant initialize).
