IRC 5185
Hello IRC 5185 not booting the machine sounds like its about to boot up the screen comes up it flickers 3-4 times and the status bar loads a little you can see the bar while the screen is flickering then the copier screen goes blank but the machine is still on the power light stays on. Educated guss I think its the Boot Rom or maybe the HD not sure if anyone can point me in the right direction thanks.

If i was you. I would open up the back make sure all you connectors, cables are all seated well. Check all conponents(boot rom, memory, hdd and about five more PCB's). Check the DDI cable that connects the reader to the main unt, reload firmware if the first couple of steps dont help. You can also have a bad control panel. -

Hey guys I checked the Root Rom the Connectors the Boards and the copier is stil having the booting issue any suggestions from here, at this time I am not sure what Is going on or how to fix the issue.Comment

I had faulty ram chips cause a similiar situation. Try new ram, but be prepared to flash f/ware, and have a HDD ready in case-good luck!Comment

There are a couple of more things you should look at. Check every board in the main controller, any of the Sub Main Boards can cause the same effect. Have you try to see if it goes into download safe mode (2&8) while powering on the iR5185. Memory as well can cause this effect.Comment

Thanks guys for your help and pointing me in the right direction, it was indeed the Boot Rom and the Main Controller both had to be replaced.
