Canon C5240a Close Front Cover Error. Please help.

    [Error Code] Canon C5240a Close Front Cover Error. Please help.

    Throwing error code for front cover even when the door is closed but if i open and reclose it. It will tell me to close the side door. Where to look for bad connection and what is best way to diagnose door sensor. I can add pictures if that helps. I have cycled power twice one for 5 min and tried and another for 30 min and neither changed anything but it wont go way. Once the front cover closed it switches to right side cover and then when i reopen and close it. It will say front cover is open. Any help would be appriciated.

      That machine uses 1 interlock switch for front and side doors. 1 brass leaf spring that probably needs to be reformed. You have to take that area apart to get to it.

          I will try and tear into it slowly. Without a diagram to see parts breakdown, i dont wanna break anything. Is it something i can do pretty easily or is something a more experienced person should do ? I am very mechanically inclined but i have never worked on a printer before other than regular service items.

                  Had this once on a 5030, long time back, would work away then suddenly close front door, side door etc. Ended up being the power supply!
